The Happy Paddlin’ Eddyline Page

Del Valle 019

There is plenty of information on Eddyline all over the web so my goal for this page is to dig a little deeper. I’ll show you some of my favorite features and what I’ve learned about Eddylines over the last 10 years representing them. Just click on the blue text to learn more.

The last 10 years have taught me that thermo-formed boats are tough. I’ve dropped them off the top of the trailer by accident and had them bounce right back for more. The bottom line is that at the end of a demo season the Carbonlite boats don’t need repair. Now, Eddyline has a cleaner factory and Carbonlite boats are easy to maintain and still as light weight as ever.

Sea Dog Footbrace
Eddyline worked closely with Sea Dog to develop this foot brace which is now being used all over the industry. The pedal part of the footbrace is comfy even when barefoot.

I can’t believe other companies still use stainless steel tracks on their footbraces. They can cut booties on drysuits and cheese grate wet skin.

One other thing I really like about this footbrace is that the pedal can not come off the track in a rescue. Even if it gets kicked loose the pedal can not slide off track. One hand adjustment with the red flag (top left corner) is easy once you get oriented. This footbrace is easy to clean and unlikey to jam with sand compared to other footbraces out there.

Removable Seat Pad
The Eddyline seat is padded for your comfort. For years, Eddyline chose not to rivet in a seat pad because in the NW these padded seats are just sponges for the water and sand. Who needs a wet butt right at the beginning of the trip?

Eddyline came up with the solution. The seat pads are fastened into the seat with a removable phillips headed rivet. The rivets can simply be removed with a phillips driver. You might not think this is a big deal but I’m telling you the truth about wet butts with unremovable seats! Plus, it is really easy to add padding under the pad for a custom fit in your kayak.
